The Friends of Forbes Hospice is an auxiliary group comprised of volunteers, patients' families and members of the community who are eager to promote the hospice concept. Friends raises funds for respite care which gives caregivers of patients who are at the end of life precious time to attend to family needs. We hold a luncheon the last Saturday of February to raise these funds.
Friends also accepts donations throughout the year from hospice's families and the community at large. Some of FOFH's families choose to mention donations to Forbes Hospice in their obituary notices. During the holiday season, we accept contributions for the Wintergarden Poinsettia Program and the Light Up a Life Program. Some friends donate their time in the unit. Friends also helps support the Chaplaincy Program at Forbes Hospice with financial donations.
